It’s Short Storytime Finals!!
Free Event 
An evening of free entertainment? Coffee? What’s not to love?? Sit back and enjoy, as some of the winning entrants to our Short Story Competition (run in conjunction with Ourtown Magazine) entertain you with their stories. This year’s prizewinner will be announced at the event.

Literary Lunch - £20 
Be one of the first to enjoy lunch in the luxurious surroundings of the newly renovated Hartford Golf Club and meet author Laura Wilkinson who will be joining us to talk about her book, Crossing the Line. This event is being organised in conjunction with Sue France of Creative Connecting in Cheshire. Booking for this one event only is through Eventbrite.

Caroline England, is a former divorce lawyer based in Manchester. Now, the bestselling author of My Husband’s Lies and The Wife’s Secret, is coming to the LitFest to talk about her latest book. Betray Her is a dark and addictive psychological thriller about who you can trust, and the damage dark secrets can do.

Jane James - £5
Jane James is the amazingly talented writer of Dorothy – The Airings of an Archers Actors Aunt, which was performed to standing ovation by Sunny Ormonde (The Archers Lilian Bellamy) when it premiered at Northwich LitFest a couple of years ago, prior to its nationwide tour. Jane’s writing is superb, and has been compared to that of Victoria Wood – full of laughter-producing wit and yet some poignancy also. At this event Jane will be talking about her writing and about how she gets her plays performed. She will also be bringing along some of the pieces she has written – some willing volunteers may be required! Expect a fun evening with lots of laughter!

Anne Williams - £5
Confused about blogging? Not sure what it is? Well now’s the time to find out! In the world of books, Anne Williams is one of the most well-respected of all book reviewers, publishing her findings in her blog, as well as elsewhere. In fact, so well-respected is she, that she was asked to speak at the RNA Conference but turned it down, making us even more delighted that she has chosen to speak at our LitFest!  Anne’s blog, Being Anne…, has a huge following, and in it she writes not only about books but also ‘about travel, and other things that make life interesting’.

Judith Barrow ‘In Conversation with’ Thorne Moore - £5
JudithBarrow & Thorne Moore are two Pembrokeshire-basedwriters. Judith is the author of three novels, as well as poetry, chidren’s books and a play. She also teaches creative writing. Top ten bestselling author, Thorne, writes ‘psychological mysteries’, or ‘domestic noir’. Together they run the annual Narberth Book Fair.

Anne Sebba - £5
Historian, Anne Sebba, Is one of Britain’s most distinguished biographers, as well as being a knowledgeable speaker who has appeared on television documentaries and elsewhere. Anne will be speaking about her book, That Woman, the biography of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor. ‘That Woman’, as she was referred to by the Queen Mother, became a hate figure for ensnaring a British king and destabilising the monarchy. She became one of the most talked about women of her generation,  inspiring such deep love and adoration in Edward Vlll that he gave up a throne and an empire for her.

Twits, Wits & Bawdy Baskets - £10

Always popular, Will’s audience size has outgrown the capacity of his previous venue. He’s certainly not a Billy Nomates anymore, hence the move to Davenham! We never know what to expect from Will but that is all part of his charm. With the assistance of his readers, he will be presenting some of the many scripts he has written during the year. Laughter is guaranteed.

Stephen Booth - £5
Stephen Booth is the internationally bestselling, CWA Dagger-winning author of the acclaimed thrillers featuring Cooper and Fry. The series is in development as a TV programme. Having written twenty books to date, Stephen must be one of our most prolific crime writers – as well as being a brilliant speaker who comes highly recommended.

Weaver Hall Museum
An Evening of Poetry & Music - 7-9pm - £5           
Hosted by Angela Topping. Headline musician is the acclaimed Gordon Tyrrall, professional folk musician from Leeds, on guitar and vocals. Headline poet is Brian Wake, well known on the Liverpool scene. Come along and share a poem or a song in the open floor, or sit back and listen. Doors open 6.30pm.

Three local writers – come and hear their journey to publication.   Ruth Elliott-Smith lives in Cuddington. A former press, radio and TV journalist, she has written an adventure thriller entitled The Sword – Blood Demands Blood and has a second thriller, entitled Amazon, due out in May. Kelly Cowley & K.C.Finnare the founders of Odd Voice Out, a new independent literary press based in Chester. Since launching in November 2018, they have been busily promoting their books Fallow Heart and Shrinking Sinking Land, with two more new books in the offing.

Richard Strange - £10
Richard Strange presents  ‘An Accent Waiting to Happen’ – a collection of songs, stories, film clips, anecdotes, and readings from his critically acclaimed memoir, as well as downright scurrilous gossip from his 40 years in the arts and entertainment world. Writer, musician, actor and more, Richard was front man with the band The Doctors of Madness. As an actor he has appeared in films such as Batman, Gangs of New York, Harry Potter, Robin Hood-Prince of Thieves and more, as well as numerous TV appearances including several episodes of Men Behaving Badly, and many stage plays including touring the world in a Russian version of Hamlet. As a writer, Richard is a regular contributor to such diverse publications as The Guardian, Tatler, Culture and Travel, and Vogue.
